When Do Toasts, Dinner, and Dances Happen?

Most couples do their grand entrance and first dance, then dinner, then toasts during or right after dinner, then parent dances and open dancing. Doing toasts during dinner keeps the night moving, and gets them done while everyone is still seated and paying attention.

My Wedding Day Timeline Tips

  1. Plan around sunset. Look up sunset for your date and save 20 minutes for portraits right before it.
  2. Add buffer time. Build in 15-30 minutes for hair running late or travel.
  3. Make a family photo list. It’s the easiest way to keep this part fast.
  4. Share it with everyone. Send your final timeline to your vendors and wedding party a week before.
