My Pick: October

If I had to choose one month, it’s October. Average highs are around 71°F, it’s one of the driest months of the year, and the fall light is SO pretty. It’s also the most popular month, so book early.

Spring (March to May)

  • Weather: Highs climb from the mid-60s in March to the high 70s in May.
  • Watch for: Pollen, especially in April, and March is one of the rainier months.
  • Best for: Blooming gardens and fresh greenery. May is a great spring pick.

Summer (June to August)

  • Weather: Hot and humid, with highs in the high 80s and frequent afternoon storms.
  • Watch for: Heat for you and your guests, plus pop-up thunderstorms.
  • Best for: Long days (sunset is around 8:40 PM in late June) and evening receptions. Pricing can be better too.

Fall (September to November)

  • Weather: Highs drop from the low 80s in September to the low 60s in November.
  • Watch for: Popular dates book up 18 months or more ahead.
  • Best for: Comfortable temps, fewer rainy days, and golden light. November is drier and cozier.

Winter (December to February)

  • Weather: Highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s.
  • Watch for: Early sunsets, as early as about 5:10 PM in December.
  • Best for: Moody, candlelit indoor weddings (think chandeliers at The Morehead Inn) and lower prices.
