Your photographer is the person who’s with you almost all day, and the one who decides what your memories look like forever. No pressure lol! Here’s how to choose a wedding photographer who’s right for YOU.

1. Start With Style

Scroll through lots of portfolios and notice what you’re drawn to. Bright and airy? Moody? Editorial? Candid and documentary? Film? Your photographer’s style should already look like the photos you’re dreaming of.

2. Ask to See Full Galleries

Portfolios show the highlights. Full galleries show how a photographer handles a whole day – dark receptions, family photos, rain, and all the in-between moments.

3. Make Sure You Click

You’ll spend more time with your photographer than with almost anyone else on your wedding day. Hop on a call and see how you feel. Do they make you laugh? Do you feel relaxed? That comfort shows up in your photos.

4. Understand What’s Included

Compare hours of coverage, number of edited images, turnaround time, second shooters, film, travel, and albums. Two packages with the same price can include very different things. You can see exactly what’s included in my collections on my investment page.

5. Read Reviews

See what past couples say about the experience, not just the photos. Were they calm, organized, fun, and on time? You can read what my couples have to say (and how I work) on my experience page.

6. Questions to Ask Before You Choose a Wedding Photographer

  1. Can I see a few full galleries?
  2. What’s your approach to posing?
  3. Do you shoot on multiple SD cards/cameras?
  4. When will we get our photos?
  5. Do you help with the timeline?

7. Trust Your Gut

If you look at someone’s work and get butterflies, that’s a sign!!
